I was reading Mel’s post about how August sucks and I have to agree.
The week before Labor Day is always the strangest time for me. I am thinking ahead to the fall (the season in which I am most productive) and ready to get back into focus and routine. Yet I’m not quite there yet. This is limbo week, don’t you think? I don’t think I’m alone on this, a lot of my clients and colleagues seem to suffer from the same malady.
Things get strangely boring in August. I can feel the bubbling underneath the surface, the productivity surge is coming. It’s just not here yet.
It’s like microwave popcorn in the first minute and a half, this week. Next week it’ll miraculously all come together and pop, pop, pop, pop-pop-poppoppop.
Maybe I’ll just go to the state fair and try to enjoy this time, rather than sitting around waiting for the season to change.
I miss soup.
I miss shorter days.
I miss sweaters.
I am sick of watering my flowers.
I am tired of the sun beating down on me mid-day, forcing me to turn on my fan at full steam and nail down all the papers on my desk with various weighted objects.
Bring on the fall.
What a random internet find! This is Mr. Rogers testifying before the senate. If you grew up watching him, definitely take the seven minutes here, I dare you not to wax nostalgic and be grateful for the contribution he made to kids back in the day. Ya just don’t get this from an XBox 360 I’m tellin’ ya.
